![]() We don't have any reviews available yet on what the thermals look like, so keep an eye out for those. All of the Pro 8's are reported to have an internal fan which will help greatly. You probably have to worry too much about this, but my Pro 6 very quickly starts thermal throttling with any Adobe suite application open, especially since the i5 versions do not have fans. I have a 512GB MicroSD card installed where I copy photos & videos to do my editing. SSD's will give you the best performance and are reasonably priced these days. If you have performance issues, you can always use proxies.Įxternal drives are no problem at all. I would imagine you could do 4K without much issue on a Pro 8. I only do 1080p editing and it works just fine. ![]() You will most likely be able to do more on a Pro 8. ![]() ![]() Light editing is no problem with less than 5 masks in Lightroom CC or less than 10 layers in Photoshop. Having both open at the same time is doable, but not as good as my 32GB RAM desktop machine. Lightroom CC by itself will regularly max out my 8GB of RAM, and I'll often edit specific photos in Photoshop. You will absolutely want at least 16GB of RAM. I have my desktop machine that I primarily do editing on, and I have the Pro 6 as a secondary/mobile editing device. I purchased my Pro 6 i5/8GB/256GB exactly for this purpose. ![]()
